1. Lather up the shaving cream.
2. Apply the lather and let it sit for a moment.
3. Shave at a 30-degree angle in the direction of hair growth, without applying too much pressure.
4. Dry with a shaving towel.
5. Rinse the safety razor briefly under water.

You surely know it and probably already have it at home - the cartridge razor. This is a razor consisting of a plastic razor head. The razor head consists of five razor blades. But did you know that these five blades are what cause pimples and redness after shaving? This is not just because five razor blades irritate your skin much more than the single blade of a safety razor, but also because men tend to use these razor heads for too long. Plastic razor heads are many times more expensive compared to a single razor blade, which is why many change them too infrequently and accept skin irritation caused by dull blades. With a safety razor, this will never happen to you again. A safety razor is also much more environmentally friendly. The razor blade literally glides over your hair, ensuring a clean shave completely without irritation and razor burn. In addition, you will save a lot of money in the long run with a safety razor.
Beginners to classic shaving are often afraid of using a safety razor correctly and the resulting cuts. However, if you know how it's done, it is just as safe as a cartridge razor. Preparation is just as important as the shave itself. Place a warm, damp towel on your face for a few minutes so that your beard hair stands up and softens. When applying shaving soap, it should also remain on the skin for a few minutes, which further softens the hair and allows the razor blade to better capture every hair. Now take enough time for the shave. Hold the safety razor at a 30-degree angle and shave first in the direction of hair growth without applying any pressure. For a second and third pass, you can shave across and against the direction of hair growth if any hair is still remaining. Finally, you can rinse your face with cold water and your perfect shave is complete.
