With our vegan shaving brush, nothing stands in the way of you lathering up your own shaving soap. We have deliberately decided against bristles made from real badger hair, as these are kept in China and killed for the production of the brushes. In this way, you and we are taking a stand against animal exploitation. The synthetic fibre hairs feel very soft on the skin, are durable and have the same lathering properties as a shaving brush made from badger hair. In addition, no animal hair allergies can occur on the face with the synthetic fibre brush.

How do I lather shaving foam?

Step 1: Moisten the brush with warm water
Step 2: Place the shaving soap in the bowl, add a little water, and move the brush with some pressure in a quick circular motion in the bowl
Step 3: Apply the resulting foam and let it sit for 2 minutes before shaving.

Why don't you use badger hair for the brush?

At Störtebekker, we value sustainability and are against animal exploitation. During the development of our shaving brush, we decided against using badger hair. Our research showed that in China, badgers are kept in terrible conditions and killed for the production of brushes. We do not want to support this. Our tests showed that our brushes produce the same foam quality as badger hair brushes.
