The selection of beard shampoos is growing increasingly large. There is solid beard soap and liquid beard shampoo. There are beard shampoos for more moisture, against dandruff, for more shine, or specifically for caring for the skin under the beard. We believe: If you have found a truly good beard shampoo, it will automatically fulfill all these functions. It is important that it is free of parabens, silicones, and artificial fragrances. They have no place in a good care product; instead, they damage skin and hair. The risk of you having an allergic reaction or intolerance to them is high.

How do I use beard shampoo?

Using beard shampoo is very simple: Moisten your face and beard hair with warm water. Then apply a small amount of beard shampoo to the beard hair and gently massage it into the hair, as well as the skin underneath. Finally, rinse the shampoo out thoroughly with warm water. Do not use water that is too hot, as it will dry out your skin!

How often should I wash my beard with beard shampoo?

In principle, you use beard shampoo as often as the shampoo you use to wash your head hair - ideally every second or third day. Since a relatively large amount of dirt and dust gets caught in your beard during the day, it is advisable to rinse your beard daily with warm water. Every second or third time, use the beard shampoo in addition to thoroughly clean the skin and hair and to benefit from the nourishing effect of the beard shampoo. The procedure can be optimally taken care of in the shower.

From what length is a beard shampoo recommended?

Buying beard shampoo is basically recommended for anyone who wears a beard. Even a 3-day beard can be wonderfully cared for with it - or rather, the skin underneath. Since beard shampoo also has an antibacterial effect, you can use it to optimally prevent small inflammations and blemishes. You should definitely start using beard shampoo from a beard length of approximately three centimeters.

Does beard shampoo also help with dandruff in the beard?

Beard shampoo definitely helps against dandruff as well. Because it is very mild and has a moisturizing effect on your skin, you can get rid of dandruff effectively without drying out the skin further. Under no circumstances should you use regular anti-dandruff shampoos for beard dandruff! They are designed for the oily dandruff of scalp hair and, when used on beard hair, will at most have the opposite effect - they will dry out your hair and skin further, thereby causing even more dandruff.

What ingredients are contained in beard shampoo?

A good beard shampoo contains exclusively natural ingredients such as jojoba oil, castor oil, almond oil, or avocado oil. The active ingredient combination of the different oils has a nourishing, antibacterial, and circulation-promoting effect all at once. The fragrances in beard shampoo are also generally of natural origin and come from the essential oils of bergamot, rosemary, or sandalwood.
