Additionally, we have not received any negative or dangerous feedback from our customers regarding the alum stone; quite the opposite, in fact. Therefore, I would say you don't need to worry about this.

Does the alum stone also restore the skin's pH balance?

Indeed, the alum stone can have a positive or balancing effect on the skin's pH balance. Shaving foam usually has an alkaline pH. The use of shaving foam changes the slightly acidic pH of the skin. The relatively high acidity of alum brings the skin's pH back into balance after shaving.

Do I still need to use aftershave after using the alum stone?

Generally, you don't have to. However, this also depends on your skin type and personal preference. Some people find the alum stone sufficient as an aftershave, while others prefer to use an aftershave with a fragrance afterward. We suggest trying the alum stone first, and if you feel something is missing, you can always add an aftershave later.
