How do I use the body bar correctly?

You can either apply the body bar directly to your skin while showering or lather it up between your hands beforehand and use it like a regular body wash.

What is the pH level of the body bar?

Real soap naturally has a pH value of approx. 9–10. This is slightly higher than the pH value of our skin (approx. 5.5). It is precisely this difference that makes the cleansing so effective: dirt, excess oil, and bacteria are removed particularly thoroughly – completely without artificial additives.

At first, your skin might feel a little drier. This is normal because your skin needs to get used to the different pH value. However, it regulates itself and readjusts its natural protective layer (the acid mantle) after a short time.
After this transition phase, the skin usually feels clean, smooth, and healthy – many report having fewer problems with blemishes or irritation afterward.

In general, the following applies:

Soap with pH 5–6 (skin-neutral):
- Suitable if the skin is very sensitive, dry, or irritated
- Hardly affects the natural acid mantle
- Ideal for daily use on the face or for skin problems

Soap with pH 9–10 (real soap):
- Cleans particularly thoroughly and naturally
- Reliably removes excess oil, dirt, and bacteria
- Initially, the skin may appear somewhat drier – but it gets used to it in a short time
- Many perceive it as fresher and clearer afterward, often also for oily or blemished skin

What's the difference between the body bar and the solid shampoo?

Although both look similar, they are formulated differently and specifically tailored to their area of use:

Solid Shampoo Bar:
- Contains mild surfactants, vegetable oils, and active ingredients
- pH-hair-friendly (approx. 5–6), gentle on the scalp
- Simultaneously conditions & cleanses hair and beard perfectly

Body Bar:
- Classically saponified, thoroughly cleansing
- Alkaline (pH approx. 9–10) and thus ideal for normal to oily skin
- Is gentle on healthy skin, but can be drying on hair

👉 The crucial difference: The solid shampoo is mild & nourishing, thus great for sensitive scalps. The Body Bar is stronger in cleansing and therefore good for the skin, but can dry out the hair.
