For a long time, facial care products were considered a purely female affair. That has long since changed. Face cream in particular is becoming increasingly established among men.

More and more men swear by a good face cream – for sensitive skin, for extra moisture, or simply to look optimally groomed.

We have therefore now added a new one to the Störtebekker range.

What is the benefit of face cream for men?

We are all exposed to air pollution, stress, heat, cold, and lack of sleep every day. Our skin is exactly the same. And our fast-paced lives do not leave it unscathed.

It becomes dry, prone to redness and skin irritation, or we struggle with pimples because the skin's sebum production has become unbalanced. This not only looks unkempt, but also damages our skin and carries the risk of inflammation and skin conditions such as neurodermatitis.

In addition, a handsome, well-groomed beard can only truly flourish on healthy, intact skin.

A well-groomed appearance, whether at work or in private life, has long been an absolute must. A good face cream is mandatory for this.

How long does it take for face cream to absorb?

How long it takes for the care product to be fully absorbed into the skin depends somewhat on how rich your face cream is. A good product that primarily provides the skin with moisture should be absorbed in one minute. If you are using a more fatty, intensive cream, it can sometimes take up to ten minutes for the skin to absorb it.

The richer face creams are particularly recommended in winter, as their fat content protects the skin from the cold, or overnight as an intensive treatment. A face cream for dry skin should also be somewhat richer, as pure moisturizers often do not offer enough nutrients and care for sensitive skin.

Morning or evening: when should I use face cream?

The question "morning or evening" shouldn't really be a choice: face cream should be used both in the morning and in the evening, after washing your face.

In the evening, a thorough facial cleansing should be a must for you to wash off the dirt of the day. This also includes washing your beard, by the way. After cleansing, treat your skin to the appropriate care to soothe it and allow it to regenerate well overnight. In the morning, you get your skin fit and radiant for the day with a wash followed by a care product.

Which ingredients does the face cream from Störtebekker contain?

With our face cream from Störtebekker, it was particularly important to us to rely on natural and well-tolerated ingredients. After all, you shouldn't be smearing a chemical cocktail on your face, but rather a care product that also nourishes, soothes, and protects sensitive and irritated skin. Because there is one aspect we as men must keep in mind: through regular shaving, growing stubble, and the beard styles we wear, we challenge and irritate our skin.

The Störtebekker face cream therefore contains almond oil and jojoba oil as nourishing components. Both oils are very well tolerated even by irritated and sensitive skin and have a skin-soothing effect. Furthermore, they strengthen our skin barrier and contain all sorts of nutrients. Both oils also have a non-comedogenic effect, meaning that while they nourish the skin, they do not clog pores, making them ideally suited for oily skin prone to blemishes, as they blend optimally with human sebum. The omega-3 fatty acids contained therein also stimulate our collagen production and thus prevent the formation of wrinkles.

Another main ingredient of the cream is panthenol. This increases our skin moisture and also supports the skin barrier. The skin can better absorb and store moisture and dries out less quickly. This prevents dry flakes and provides a good foundation for healthy beard growth.

In addition, we have opted for tocopherol, vitamin E, as an active ingredient. It has an antioxidant effect and neutralizes harmful free radicals. This not only protects the skin from environmental influences and premature aging but also has an anti-inflammatory and soothing effect. Tocopherol is therefore our other wild card when it comes to ensuring that the cream is well tolerated by as many men as possible.

How much face cream is recommended per day?

Your skin is the best judge of exactly how much face cream you need. As a rule, use a hazelnut-sized amount and apply it evenly but sparingly to your face. If you notice that the cream absorbs in a flash but your skin does not yet feel nourished and smooth, you should be a bit more generous. If your skin suffers greatly from dryness or is currently exposed to particularly heavy stress, it may be that it needs a little more care than usual.

The cream should absorb well and your skin should feel smooth and well-hydrated afterward, not greasy.

How long does face cream last?

Since we consciously avoid chemical preservatives, our Störtebekker face cream does not have an indefinite shelf life. You should use it up within 12 months after opening, which should not be a problem with regular care anyway.
